چکیده

(1S,6R)-2,7(14),10-Bisabolatrien-1-ol-4-one was identified as a germination inhibitor from the methanol extract of Japanese cedar wood, Cryptomeria japonica. The occurrence of this compound in 1 g fresh wood was 2.0 mg, and showed a maximum of 60% germination inhibition at the dose of 20 mg/filter paper (157 microg/cm(2)) against both of lettuce and rice seeds for 4 d. A selective activity between Dicotyledoneae and Monocotyledoneae seeds was not observed.

Determination of the absolute configuration of (+)-2,7(14),10-bisabolatrien-1-ol-4-one from Japanese cedar, Cryptomeria japonica.

The absolute configuration of (+)-2,7(14),10-bisabolatrien-1-ol-4-one, a peculiar sesquiterpenol in the Japanese cedar, Cryptomeria japonica, was determined as (1S,6R)-2,7(14),10-bisabolatrien-1-ol-4-one by comparing the specific rotation values of cryptomeriones respectively converted from (+)-2,7(14),10-bisabolatrien-1-ol-4-one and synthesized from (R)-(-)-carvone.

Possible role of climate change in the pollen scatter of Japanese cedar Cryptomeria japonica in Japan

We conducted an atmospheric pollen survey using a Durham sampler from 1983 through 1998 in Toyama City, Japan. We investigated yearly changes in the pollen season of Japanese cedar Cryptomeria japonica and analyzed the relationships between climatic factors and changes in the pollen counts. The results were as follows: (1) The first day of the Japanese cedar pollen season advanced from mid-Marc...

Oral allergy syndrome induced by tomato in a dog with Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) pollinosis.

A dog with Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica, CJ) pollinosis had oral allergy syndrome (OAS) after ingesting fresh tomato. The dog showed specific IgE to both CJ and tomato allergens. As a negative control, twenty dogs without atopic dermatitis that had no exposure to tomato and no specific IgE to CJ allergen were used. They had no specific IgE to tomato allergen. Furthermore, IgE cross-reac...

T cell epitopes in Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) pollen allergens: choice of major T cell epitopes in Cry j 1 and Cry j 2 toward design of the peptide-based immunotherapeutics for the management of Japanese cedar pollinosis.

Japanese cedar pollinosis is caused by exposure to Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) pollen, of which two components, Cry j 1 and Cry j 2, are believed to be the major allergens. T cell lines specific to either Cry j 1 or rCry j 2 were reactive to various portions of each panel of overlapping peptides derived from Cry j 1 or Cry j 2. Two peptides, p211-225 and p108-120, from among six major...
